Do you like using subtitles?

How do you feel about making use of subtitles to watch movies or TV shows? Do you find them to be distracting or it helps you to focus on the movie's conversation? I used to love using them years ago but I don't feel the same way again now.

I hate using subtitles because I prefer listening rather than reading, and I can focus better on the visual aspect when I'm not reading subtitles.

Yeah, that's very correct on what using subtitles do to me now whenever I'm using it to watch movies or TV shows. It tends to take away my focus from the visual aspect of the movie/TV show to just reading!

I have to now. Sometimes I'll leave them off if they are not on, but most of my streaming services automatically use subtitles.

The only way I can't do without them is when I'm watching any movies or TV shows that's not produced in English language. It's like one Korean TV show I'm watching now which is called Sword of Arauman. It was never dubed in English, so I had to use subtitles.

I turn them off. So no, I don't like them. For non english, if the whole thing is me having to read, I just don't watch it.

Usually I dont use them. I cant read and watch the movie at the same time. If you want to learn a new language, I think then its great

Who has the time. While I am watching a movie, I want to be relaxed and enjoy what I am watching. Not reading!

Some people want to learn french or italian, thats great. Even for english its really good. To be honest, the original voice, usually english, is so much better than the synchronization

I rarely use subtitles when it comes to watching anything as I find it distracts me. I have in the past used subtitles if I have struggled to hear something.

I only use subtitles to watch movies or TV shows when the audio is bad and I have a hard time hearing and understanding the people in the movie or TV show.
